He listened to me, took my worry and concern seriously and treated me with respect and dignity. He did not make me feel rushed or hassled and made me feel like I was not a burden. I raise these points because this has been my previous experiences of hospitals and GPs. I feel very lucky to have been referred to Mr White and I find Stamford Hospital and Peterborough City Hospital to be two of the very best hospitals I have attended. My suggestion is to keep doing what you are doing because it is working well.

My consultant, Mr White, listened carefully to my medical problem and it's history and clearly explained what he would recommend and why. He answered all my questions, giving me his time and I never felt rushed in any way, this was at both at my initial consultation and my follow-up one, 3 months after my operation. He came to see me before and after my operation and again, was very clear as to what I could expect. Unlike some Doctors, he was always very approachable, never patronising or condescending, I knew he was listening to me and never fobbed me off and always offered to chance for me to ask questions, never trying to get rid of me. I know of 2 other people who have been seen by Mr White and both would highly recommend him. Although I was discharged upon my 3 month post-op consultation, he offered his full support should I encounter and further problems during my recovery period. I would highly recommend having your operation at the Fitzwilliam Hospital. During my operation, all the nursing staff their gave me expectional care at all times. I had a spotlessly clean and tidy private room with TV and bathroom (even though I was an NHS patient) and the food was excellent too! My only constructive suggestions are that post-op, please advise patients the after effects of the anesthetic can cause nausea and possible sickness which wasn't explained to me as I started to feel queezy after my operation, but luckily I wasn't sick at any time. Also, that taking pain killers on a daily basis after your operation is highly likely to cause constipation and is best to take a laxative with them. I wasn't advised on this and 2 weeks later I was so severly bunged up that I needed to go to an emergency out patient clinic for a laxitive suppository to get it all out !!!! I look back and laugh but at the time I was in severe discomfort and very worried. My GP then prescribed a weaker pain killer (Co-codamol) with laxative sachets (Laxido) to take which worked well together.

Mr White was thorough with his questions and examination. I found him to be both really pleasant and professional. Mr White certainly had time for me and I say thank you to him.
